Stephen Land

Vice President of Development

Stephen is a member of Stellar Renewable Power’s senior leadership team and has spent his career leading teams to accomplish challenging missions. After graduating from Middletown High School in 1996, Stephen joined the United States Navy where he served as an enlisted submariner for 7 years completing multiple ballistic missile submarine tours aboard USS West Virginia and USS Louisiana. After the tragic events of 9/11, Stephen gained a commission as a Logistics Officer in the United States Army where he completed combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan to include a Company Command tour with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division as Part of President Obama’s Afghan Surge Force.

After retiring from the military in 2016, Stephen began his career in the renewables industry at NextEra Energy Resources. He oversaw the creation of a 4 GW pipeline of early-stage utility scale solar projects across multiple states in the southeast United States that ultimately resulted in 8 executed Power Purchase Agreements totaling 1.4 GW. In late 2020, Stephen transitioned to AES Clean Energy where he played a critical role in the strategy deployed across the Mountain West region. Again, he put together an early-stage pipeline of utility scale solar and solar + storage projects totaling ~2 GW.

Stephen joined Stellar Renewable Power in March 2022 and currently serves as the utility scale Vice President of Development.

Stephen earned his MBA from the College of William and Mary in 2012 and his BA from Warner College in 2003.
